Rustic moss decor

We love the elegant, yet rustic feel of moss.  Incorporating this organic plant into your wedding decor creates a tranquil feeling for your guests. There are many organic mosses that you can purchase or easily grow!  The benefit of growing this plant is that it covers areas easily & transports just fine into boxes or any type of centerpiece you might be interested in.  Moss filters the air & purifies rainfall, so it’s a lovely addition to any home garden.  If you’re interested in more design ideas, please contact us!  Good luck with your green wedding design… xo

All that glitters

It’s bright and sunny in Marin today.  I’m very excited to be hitting the trails again post baby.  I’ve missed my little man on my mini two hour sabaticals through the redwoods, but a few hours away makes me a better mommy.  I come home excited to start the day with my little man & ready for obstacles when they arise. Parenting is tough work, but his little cooing & smiles make it all worthwhile.

Today I was feeling super inspired by the metallic shoes & fun crop tops (I can’t ever wear those…) that I was eyeing at a shop downtown. All that glitz got me thinking about how you can incorporate gold into your wedding without over doing it.  Less is always more!  I have to say, I’ve given into the craze.  I have some new, adorable tribal/metallic print pillows sitting on my couch that I adore.  Lennon loves to look at them too!  (Yeah! Baby bonus.)  I’ve compiled a fun list of ways to metallicize your wedding below!  Don’t forget to add your sustainable options in there too…  golden dipped, reusable wine glasses, gold painted mason jars for candle holders, seashells from the ocean with a hint of shine & more.

Happy Memorial Day to all.  xx

Summer bouquets

When summer suddenly appears, I can hardly wait for my hydrangeas to bloom!  I’m like a giddy child peeking outside every morning to see if they are ready to put in vases yet.  There’s nothing that can match their unbelievable blue hue.  They are to. die. for.

Nothing says “summer” or “love” like deliciously arranged flowers, and while planning one of the largest events in your life, you wouldn’t want anything less than delicious… right?  Okay, and gorgeous.  Whether you’re going green with local flowers from your garden, or ordering from your favorite shop, you can keep a few things in mind to stay eco-friendly right down to the bows used to tie together your bouquets.

– Choose flowers that can be replanted.  Succulents are a major winner here.  They can survive out of water for several days.

– Choose flowers that are in season, local, and don’t have a large footprint.

– Talk to your florist about eco-friendly & fair trade flower options as well as burlap or eco-friendly twine/ribbon.

I hope the selection here brings inspiration to your planning today!  I’m personally feeling very inspired by the new, bold colors that brides are choosing.  A bright color can make your white dress all the more amazing by creating a contrast!  I’m also a hopeless traditional wedding gal, though, and you can never underestimate the power of white on white!  Enjoy your Tuesday.  xx
